Here at Calamity Jane Scrapbooker, “we” are mostly a sole proprietor with some family and good friends who kick in for grins. I made my first scrapbook years ago after a trip to the U.K. and France. A dear friend of mine had all the cool stuff: rubber stamps, stickers, patterned papers, adhesives, cutting tools, etc., and she showed me how to be creative with the photos from my trip.
After my first experience with scrapbooking, I met a friend who was selling some products in her home, so I came, I experienced and I bought some. Of course I first felt compelled to make a scrapbook about my daughter, but then we learned that my sister had a rare disease and was going to be sick for a long time. So my creative energies got stoked up like a freight train on steep down grade and I really went to town with scrapbooking. I collected joyous photos of our childhood from my mother (who had them loose in a BOX!). With this and some fun embellishments, I created a book full of fun family memories for my sister. Her happy tears were such a great reward, that I knew this was something I would enjoy doing for others.
Now that I've done scrapbooks for almost all of my relations and am running out of relatives, I would like to turn to the public and help them to save those precious memories. Sort through those old photos that are still in their envelopes or tossed carelessly into boxes and send them to me. We can go over a plan and I'll have them archived safely and creatively in a keepsake album just for you. For more information visit the Scrapbooker for Hire page.
